Vision Mission

“Women” are the beautiful creation of God and bestowed to make the world around them more beautiful and cheerful.

Women today have left the four walls of the kitchen and are silently treading their path towards success. There are women who have made their mark in areas of education, business, technology, medicine, space, wildlife, etc. and we Salute their endeavors.

ESTABLISHMENT

The concept “Women Empowerment” gained much limelight after its introduction at the United Nation’s Third World Conference. A force of awareness can create a big difference for individual. When a woman feels concerned, she should be encouraged to seek help from reliable sources. Women Empowerment means a woman having control over her life according to her beliefs and core values.

With this vision in mind Shahaji Law College, Kolhapur has formed a dedicated Women Cell to provide platform to women to feel comfortable expressing their feelings, problems, to help them to understand their potential and strength, etc.

PREAMBLE

WE at Shahaji Law College nurture the culture, where the aspirations and needs of women and men are equally valued and favored.

AND WHEREAS, Shahaji Law College constituted a “Women Cell” wherever it is necessary and expedient to maintain and strengthen the status of women, to create awareness of feminine potential and to create social awareness about the problems of women and gender discrimination, to provide legal aid wherever necessary.

VISION AND MISSION
  • Though there are various Women’s Development Movements and a wide spread network of non-Government Organisations having grass root presence and deep insight into women’s concerns, there still exist a wide gap between goals enunciated in the Constitution, legislation, policies, plans, programmes, and related mechanisms on one hand and the status of women in society on the other.
  • The access of women particularly those belonging to weaker sections, minorities and in rural areas in informal, unorganised sector to education, health and productive resources is inadequate. Therefore, they remain marginalised and poor.
  • Thus, creating awareness on women’s rights and legal entitlements, and ensuring the safety and dignity of the female, educating women about programmes, Government schemes and policies specially designed for them, focusing on economic, cultural development and equal access to education is the vision of Women Cell.
