Shahaji Law College is a full fledged and dedicated institution to impart legal education in this region of the state. This institution has the rich heritage of producing young lawyers many of whom have flourished as seasoned lawyers, great judges on the Bench of lower Courts and High Court, political activists, social workers, and justice dispensing agents. Since its inception, the college has seen many changes in terms of infrastructure, curriculum and personnel. With the passage of time, the college has imbibed the emerging values without losing the traditional roots of ‘Justice to All’ and ‘Justice for All’. The tiny beginning of the college in a thatched hut has now culminated into an independent sprawling campus of two acres. The college is catering to the needs of poor, downtrodden, needy and of course, the affluent. The three year and five year law courses coupled with diplomas and certificate courses are watering the legal thrust of the community since 1933. The fees charged for the course is meager and encouraging. Within few thousands of rupees, the students of this institution come out as social engineers. The admitted students are eligible to all social welfare measures introduced by the government from time to time.

The college has a rich heritage of producing merit students at university level. It is not an exaggeration to mention that every year the students of this institution make it into top ten students declared by the University. The college has won the Best College Certificate among the urban colleges in DIT and DLL courses. The articles published in the college magazines have also been adjudged as best articles for which various prizes have been bagged by this institution.

This institution is blessed with, the selfless trustees, talented teachers and committed non teaching staff. There is a well maintained library with collection of classic books which are rarely available in any of the libraries in western part of Maharashtra. Overall, I am convinced beyond doubt that, this college has become an epicenter of legal education in this part of Maharashtra.
